Opportunities

21st Century Community Learning Center Program  |  In partnership with Hmong American Partnership, this program supports the creation of academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for CSE scholars. The program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating students.
This program is made possible with a grant from the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) using federal funding, CFDA 84.287, 21st Century Community Learning Centers. This program does not necessarily represent the policy of the federal Department of Education or MDE and you should not assume endorsement by the federal or state government.

English Language (EL)  |  CSE attracts a high number of students learning English as a second language. This program helps them catch up to their statewide peers in English proficiency.
Title I Services  |  CSE is a school-wide program site for Title I services and other federal services. A Title committee meets twice a year to review the program. If you are interested in serving on this committee, notify the Administration.
Special Education  |  CSE provides comprehensive special education services for all eligible students. If you have questions or need additional information, contact the main office and ask for the Special Education Coordinator.
Media Center/Library  |  CSE has weekly media center time for classrooms. The library clerk is available to help students find appropriate grade level books to read and check out. Help your child to enjoy reading by promoting literacy in your home.
Internet Access for Students  |  Parents must grant permission for their child to have individual access to the internet for educational purposes and school assignments. Parents are made aware they may be liable for the conduct of the child if they violate internet usage while in school or while using school assigned computers.
Parents should help their child understand and accept responsibility for their internet usage while selecting, sharing, exporting or importing data through the CSE server. Parents should also be aware the school’s IT department will monitor use of the CSE internet server and has the right to view student usage sites, social media, and shared content on a regular basis. If you have additional questions on how to give guidance to your child on proper internet access and usage, contact your student’s teacher.
Technology Program  |  Every elementary school classroom at CSE has a station of five computers to support learning. Our middle school has several laptop carts shared between teachers to support learning in several classes at the same time. Every classroom has a Smartboard to enhance teacher instruction and student learning.
School Events  |  CSE will have several school events throughout the year; such as Hmong New Year, International Night and more. Most events are on the school calendar.
