During the COVID-19 pandemic, many of our public library systems are offering digital/online services to make up for the loss of in-person services. Check out the guides below for opening up an eCard for your public library.

Even though library branches aren't open, many digital library services are still available. Use the links below to complete an online application for an "eCard". The steps are quick, easy, and will give you access to tons of free eBooks, eAudiobooks, games, learning activites, and much more!

How to Get a Library Card

Signing up for a library card at SPPL is easy to do. Stop in to your nearest library branch. Please bring a photo ID, proof of your date of birth, and proof of your current address. Follow this link for more instructions on how to get your card.

How to Get a Library Card

Libby Digital Books (eBooks & E-Audiobooks)

Libby is a free service utilized by SPPL to give patrons access to eBooks and E-Audiobooks from any smart device (phone, tablet, PC, etc.)

How to Sign Up

To gain access to the thousands of books available through Libby visit this link. The first step is to download the app on your device. It's available through both the Apple store and Google store. After downloading the app, search for your library (SPPL/HCL). Then enter your library card # and you're done! Search and read on your device. Still having trouble? Use this guide to help you.


CloudLibrary (eBooks & E-Audiobooks)

CloudLibrary is another option for accessing eBooks on your computer and other smart devices. The CloudLibrary app is available for Windows and Mac systems. As with Libby, you start by downloading the app, opening it, selecting your language, then searching your library. After selecting your library, put in your card information and you're all set!

RB Digital (E-Audiobooks & Magazines)


Finally, RB Digital is an app allowing you to access tons of E-audiobooks on your device. To use download the app from the Google or Apple store.
