English Language

Every grade level at CSE has an English Language (EL) teacher to help students learn English. In the

elementary school, EL teachers co-teach with classroom teacher and teach small groups of students. Together they help the students learn English at the same time the students are learning about reading, math, science, and social studies.

In the middle school, EL teachers teach English classes and co-teach with other teachers.

Some students who are new to our country or are beginning to learn English may go to a different room to work with an EL teacher in a small group. All EL students take the ACCESS test in February and March every year. This test shows how well they are learning English.
