Dear Parents and Friends:
Nyob Zoo! Welcome to Community School of Excellence's website! At CSE we are committed to offer your child a first class 21st Century public education. We understand that our children of today will live and work in a world we have yet to imagine!
At CSE, your child has the opportunity to experience and learn in a globally minded school. Please visit our page regarding 21st Century Literacies to learn more about the ways we are supporting language, cultural, global and digital Literacies for each child.
As a school committed to 21st Century Learning, we provide students with opportunities to learn about themselves and others, including: the rich culture and language of the Hmong people, reading and writing in English, Hmong and Mandarin Chinese, technology and web based learning, interactive classes and literacy instruction in all content areas, as well as an extended day program which offers tutoring, snacks, hands-on cultural learning through recreation, art, dance, computer and music. To prepare our students’ minds and bodies for learning, all children receive free breakfast, lunch and daily snacks, including Hmong food for lunch at least two days each week.
Most importantly, CSE has made a commitment to becoming an IB: International Baccalaureate World School. We believe that the philosophy and mission of the IB World organization not only fits the local and global community vision for CSE, but will also serve as a platform to expand our students' academic success and global citizenship. The framework of the IB programme is the vehicle for all of CSE's initiatives and programs. We are currently an IB World Candidate school for both MYP and PYP programe and we will continue to update the community as we move through the IB candidate and authorization process.
As part of our IB focus, every teacher and staff member at CSE is committed to collaboration, communication, and supporting a welcoming, cooperative local and global community.
Again, I hope that you will enjoy visiting our website and learning more about our caring and forward-thinking learning community. We offer daily tours of the school and we welcome the opportunity for you to visit us.
