International Baccalaureate Program

CSE is proud to be the first IB World School with a Hmong and Karenni cultural focus in the state of Minnesota. We believe the philosophy of the IB Organization not only fits the local and global community vision for CSE, but also serves as a platform to expand our students’ academic success and global citizenship.

We became an IB World School in 2013 and we are confident that CSE will continue to meet the needs of children in our community for many years to come. We are supported by a wonderful multicultural community of students, parents, friends, families, and Twin Cities business partners willing to help our students and their families.

We invite you to connect with our community, both locally and around the world!

The IB Mission and Vision

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end the organization works with schools, governments, and global organizations to offer challenging world class educational programmes and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

The common philosophy of IB World Schools is to deliver a rigorous educational experience that help students develop the skills necessary to excel in an increasingly competitive, global society. The IB Programme places students at the center of the educational experience and seeks to develop thoughtful learners who strive to be:
  • Inquirers - We ask questions to learn and know more
  • Thinkers - We use our minds to consider ideas and make judgments.
  • Principled We understand the difference between right and wrong and make good choices.
  • Caring - We are compassionate and show concern for others and our world.
  • Balanced We have many interests. We work and play hard.
  • Knowledgeable We know a lot about different things.
  • Communicators - We can express ourselves in many ways.
  • Open-minded We are willing to listen and consider everyone's point of view.
  • Risk-takers - We are willing to take chances for greater success.
  • Reflective - We think deeply about our learning, others, and ourselves.
