CSE middle school students began the 2011-2012 school year with a surprise announcement, they will be getting laptops. Students in grades 6-8 will be issued their own laptop to use both at school and at home. At an assembly on Friday students and staff got their first peek at the devices that will be issued later this month. The computers students will be getting are special machines designed specifically for education. They are durable, as powerful as most full-size laptop computers, and can convert into a tablet PC with both stylus and touch screen interface. It will be exciting to see just what kind of impact these devices will have for student learning.

We promote intercultural understanding and respect, not as an alternative to a sense of cultural and national identity, but as an essential part of life in the 21st century:
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
